Terms of Service
By creating an account or using PaperPulse ("the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
PaperPulse is an academic paper digest service operated by Mondosoft. Subscribers define keyword topics and receive periodic email digests of new papers matching those topics, sourced from public APIs including arXiv, PubMed, bioRxiv/medRxiv, and curated open-access journal feeds.
2. Subscription, billing, and refunds
- The service is offered as a recurring subscription at $7 USD per month, billed via Stripe.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time from the Settings page; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and is not pro-rated.
- We do not offer refunds for partial periods. If you believe you were billed in error, email support@mondosoft.io within 30 days.
3. Account responsibilities
- You are responsible for keeping your bearer token confidential. Anyone with your token can access your account.
- You may not share your account or use the service on behalf of multiple people without separate subscriptions.
- You must provide a valid email address and keep it up to date.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable law.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, abuse the API, or circumvent authentication.
- Resell or redistribute the digest emails or matched papers as your own product.
- Use automated tools to scrape the service beyond the documented API.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.
5. Third-party content
Paper data shown in digests is fetched from third-party APIs (arXiv, PubMed, bioRxiv, journal RSS feeds). We do not host or own this content; each paper links to its original source. We make no guarantees about the completeness, accuracy, or availability of upstream sources.
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, suspend the service for upgrades, or experience outages from upstream providers. We are not liable for service interruptions.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of paper matches, or completeness of digests.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. We may terminate your account for violation of these terms or for non-payment.
10. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email; continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
